My Review of the Oral-B Pro 500 VS Pro 6000
July 12, 2019
The Oral-B Pro 5000 and Vitality are similar in one way- they are both great models if you’re planning to get started with electric toothbrushes.
How you wonder? Well, if you’re looking to get started with a base model that doesn’t provide you with any advanced features but is seriously affordable, the Pro 500 is the right choice for you! (Click here to view it on Amazon)
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a model that is the starting model for premium models, the Pro 6000 is the right choice for you to go for! (Click here to view it on Amazon)
[Don’t worry, we are going to talk about the exact differences between these two as well. Just be sure that you keep reading!]
What are the main features of the Oral-B Pro 500?
The Oral-B Pro 500 is a great model to begin with if you want something a little better than the Oral-B vitality. (Click here to check out the differences between these two)
The Pro 500 offers you with quite a few features that are better than the perfectly base model. However, it retains the extreme level of affordability at the same time, making it a great model if you plan to get started with Electric toothbrushes. (Click here to read my full review of the Pro 500)
The main features of the Oral-B Pro 500 might now be discussed in detail:
- Only one brushing option: The Pro 500 only provides you with a single 2D brushing mode. It doesn’t really give you much of a choice or much of an adaptability in this specific scenario.
- Quadpacer present: The Pro 500 comes along with the 30-second timer (Quadpacer) that alerts you after every 30 seconds while you’re brushing (the typical duration for brushing as set in the timer for electric toothbrushes is 2 minutes)
- No Charging Indicator: The Oral-B Pro 500 doesn’t even come along with a charging indicator, just like the Oral-B vitality. If you’re looking for this feature, you need to go for at least the Oral-B Pro 1000 (Click here to check out my review of the Pro 1000)
- Very Affordable: The Oral-B Pro 500 is a super affordable model because it’s just slightly more expensive than the base model known as Vitality. As such, this is one of the models you can always rely on in terms of economy.

What are the main features of the Oral-B Pro 6000?
The Oral-B Pro 6000 is the most affordable model among the premium models that you might choose to go for. If you can get it on a sale, you might find a model with premium features and looks at a much more affordable price. (Click here to read our full review of the Oral-B Pro 6000 model)
Securing a hugely positive rating from almost every user, this model has emerged as one of the most loved Electric toothbrushes in the entire market. The main features behind it might be summed up as follows:
- 5 Brushing Modes: The Oral-B Pro 6000 comes along with 5 brushing modes for you to choose from, providing you with a huge range of functionality. However, there is a slightly more affordable model available that provides you with 5 brushing modes too- the Oral-B Pro 5000 (Click here to view it on Amazon)
- Pressure Sensor: This model, obviously, comes along with a pressure sensor and indicator that lets you know when you’re brushing too hard, which helps you optimize your brushing experience.
- The 30-second timer: This model also boasts of the 30-second timer that alerts you after every 30 seconds during the 2 minute brushing sessions that you have.
- Smart Wireless Guide: This model comes along with a wireless smart guide that’s wall-mounted. This helps you brush your teeth in the perfect way, and once you get the hang of it, can provide you with much better results.
- Bluetooth (with Smart Series): The Oral-B Pro 6000 has a special smart series that provides you with the Bluetooth option as well.

What are the main differences between the two?
These two models, as you might have already noticed, are fairly different. While they are both great choices as starting models, they sure aren’t even remotely similar except the fact that they are both Electric Toothbrushes.
The main differences between the two that could help you choose the right one for you might be summed up in the following points:
- Brushing modes: One of the main differences here is in terms of functionality. The Pro 500 provides you with only a single 2D brushing mode while the Pro 6000 offers you with 5 brushing modes.
- Charging Indicator: Another huge difference is that of the charging indicator. It honestly is a pretty important feature that the Pro 500 lacks. So, if you are looking forward to having this feature, the Pro 6000 might be the right choice for you.
- Pressure Indicator: If you’re looking for a visual pressure indicator, the Oral-B Pro 6000 seems like the right model for you in this case.
- Bluetooth: The Oral-B Pro 6000 smart series provides you with a Bluetooth feature as well- this is something that the Pro 500 lacks because it’s pretty much a base model. So, if you’re looking for this feature, the Pro 6000 seems to be the better choice here.
- Pricing: The Oral-B Pro 500 is a super affordable model. The Pro 6000 on the other hand, is actually a fairly expensive model because of the fact that it’s basically a premium model. So, if you’re looking only towards economy, the Pro 500 obviously has the lead.
Conclusion
In my personal opinion, both of these models are great choices to get started with. However, the perfect model for you would depend on your exact needs.
For example, if you’re looking for a model that has a high level of functionality and efficiency and are willing to pay a bit extra for it, the Pro 6000 is the right choice for you. (Click here to view it on Amazon)
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a model that has quite a few features but is extremely viable in terms of pricing as well, the Pro 500 seems to be the choice for you here. (Click here to view it on Amazon)
