Why does storage location matter at all?
The storage location is actually a really important thing to consider when it comes to toothbrushes.
The reasons are many. And while all of them might not be obvious at first, you’re bound to agree with them once you get to know them.
[And we’re going to go through them, so make sure that you actually keep them in the back if your mind!]
The main things that need to be borne in mind when discussing storage location are these differences that it makes:
- Cleanliness: The first and foremost factor is the overall cleanliness. The cleanliness of your toothbrush depends directly on the place where you decide to store it. If you store it in a dirty place, the whole point of cleaning it before storing it is gone!
- Letting your toothbrush dry: A wet toothbrush is the breeding ground for bacteria. So, you need a storage space which is going to let air pass. This is really important because this is one of the main things that you dental hygiene actually depends on. - The right posture for your toothbrush: Another great way to ensure that your toothbrush is dry is to keep it upright. Well, this sounds easy, doesn’t it? But it’s actually a really hard thing in real, and depends entirely on where you choose to store your toothbrush. In fact, this is one of the main reasons why you were storing it in the bathroom all this time!
Should you keep your toothbrush in the Bathroom?
Well, one of the most commonly asked questions is if you should keep your toothbrush in the bathroom.
The answer is NO!
[Keep in mind: The Bathroom is one of the worst places to actually store your toothbrush in!]
As I said at the beginning of this article, I used to do this myself for most of my life. But, once I realized how horrible the idea is, I couldn’t do it for a single day more.
And honestly, I would really ask you to see reason and stop with the same as soon as you can. The bathroom is no place for your toothbrush.
Why you ask? Well, because that’s pretty much the worst choice you can make!
When you flush, small particles fly off your waste and actually land on your toothbrush! Now, you don’t want to brush with the same toothbrush again the next day, do you?
Brushing and flushing: If you’re like most people, you keep your toothbrush in the bathroom. But whenever you flush the toilet, bacteria gets sprayed into the air where it lands on your toothbrush bristles. Totally disgusting, I know. Keep your toothbrush at least three feet away from the toilet. Or, better yet, just keep the toilet lid closed.
